Professor Nguyen Ngoc Thanh

Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh has been a State Professor of Poland since 2009 and a State Professor of Vietnam since 2011. He is an internationally recognized researcher in Artificial Intelligence, computational intelligence, and intelligent computing systems. Professor Thanh has authored more than 450 international scientific publications, 52 scholarly books, and holds two European patents, making significant contributions to the advancement of artificial intelligence and intelligent computing. He has served as Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor of numerous prestigious international journals, including the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics series. He is also recognized as an ACM Distinguished Scientist, reflecting his outstanding contributions to computing research and his role in fostering international academic collaboration. Throughout his career, Professor Thanh has chaired and co-chaired more than 40 international conferences, taught and conducted research at leading universities worldwide, and served as an expert evaluator and advisor for major European research programmes, including Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET), and EUREKA. In recognition of his sustained scientific excellence and global impact, Professor Thanh has been continuously listed among the World's Top 2% Most Influential Scientists, as compiled by Elsevier and Stanford University, since 2019. He currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Technical Committee on Computational Collective Intelligence and is a member of the Committee on Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences. IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics,he is not only an outstanding scientist recognized by ACM, but also an academic bridge between continents. Prof. Thanh has chaired over 40 international conferences, lectured at numerous leading universities worldwide, and served as an advisor to major EU research programs such as Marie Curie, FET, and EUREKA. Thanks to his enduring contributions and global influence, since 2019, he has been consistently listed in the Top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists, according to Elsevier and Stanford University. He currently serves as Chair of the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Computational Collective Intelligence and is a member of the Committee on Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
